Are Brighouse Stove Centre installers all Heat and Gas Safe Registered as standard?

With over 100 years of collective experience our teams of Hetas and Gas Safe Registered fitters know a thing or two with regards to installing gas and wood burning stoves, fireplaces and always have specialist tradesmen on hand to remove and build where needed for various applications. Working locally and nationally and providing a first class, high quality fitting service is our main aim when providing you with a premium service in-store.

What is the difference between a multi-fuel stove and a wood burner?

Stoves which burn wood, coal and smokeless fuel are known as multi-fuel. Wood burners are for burning wood only. Burning wood sits on a bed of ash as it burns, whereas smokeless fuel and coal requires a grate so that air can filter from underneath, this type of burner may also have an external riddling lever fitted which is use to shake the ash pan.

Will you visit and tell us what we can have?

We are always happy to visit you and run through the various applications available to you. What’s more we offer you a free, no obligation survey by a specialist member of our showroom team. Call us today on 01484 716966

How long does a stove last?

The average lifespan of a good quality branded stove is in the region of 20 years. Having your stove serviced annually, along with employing a chimney sweep, will help prolong the life of your precious stove.

Do you install nationally?

Brighouse Stove Centre installers provide a complete fitting service locally and nationally. Our professional teams are fully Hetas and Gas Safe Registered. Call us today on 01484 716966 to arrange your free, on-site, no obligation survey.

Can I have a stove in a smokeless area?

Multi-fuel and wood burning stoves can be installed in a smokeless area as long as the stove is DEFRA approved. DEFRA is an abbreviation of ‘Department for Environment Food & Rural Affairs’.

What are your installation costs?

Each installation is unique and priced according to the size of the project. For your free, no obligation survey please call our team on 01484 716966. Under normal circumstances installations can be arranged and work completed within 2 weeks, at busier times of year this time scale can and will change. If you require installation sooner than the dates quoted over the phone on any given day, please call into our showroom and speak with a member of our helpful and informative team.

What is DEFRA?

DEFRA Approval means that you can now burn wood in designated smoke controlled zones. All stoves which are DEFRA approved require that the stove is used in accordance with the users manual. Visit www.defra.gov.uk for further information.
